Description
HISTORY
In the 1960s this Bill Bengry owned Beetle was used on numerous national rallies with different engines installed including a Porsche 356 1600cc. In 1966 Bob Beales purchased the vehicle from the Bengry dealership and from then on "UWP 401" was used regularly in many types of club motorsport including rally, autotest, autocross, production car trials and economy events.

Regular class wins in rallies were collected as well as 2nd in class in the Welsh Autocross championship. The Beetle has been used extensively for historic rallies, both gravel and tarmac events which included nation and international events where class wins were the norm. The Welsh Historic Rally Championship was won in 1992 as well as several outright wins of Road Championship Rallies. The car is still rallied today.
